Half-Hour Dramedy
LOGLINE: A big city graduate heads to the Northern frontier to jumpstart her journalistic career, only to find a mishmash of wannabe reporters who’ll be damned if they’ll let her strike career gold first.

SOURDOUGHS is a modernized, women-led NORTHERN EXPOSURE. Drawing inspiration from Yukon’s rich history and cultural fabric, SOURDOUGHS is a fish-out-of-water story set against emerging adulthood and coming-of-age in a fantastical environment.

The character-driven dramedy follows a diverse group of professionals working at a daily newspaper as they deal with all the personal, professional and community-based frustrations, heartbreaks and harsh realities of life in the Canadian North.

Spunky, risky and specific, SOURDOUGHS is about being an outsider and the search for enlightenment in one of the most spectacular places on earth — at one of the most spectacularly chaotic times of all our lives: our 20s. It's a time when we all struggle to balance career with personal life. Or maybe it's the search for something even more.

This is a story about finding yourself, finding your place, and finding your community.
